Brittany: Sundown at the beach

I took these after dinner one night, on the windy beach where children were still playing and men had come down with their fishing rods. The light was just as it looks in the pictures, bright pink and soft blue, and the air was cool and salty.

Road trip: Ferry to France

These are some pictures from the ferry to France (Plymouth to Roscof) which I caught with my family on Thursday. It was a very nice ferry and I ate an okay Salad Nicoise and slept while the waves rocked the boat gently. The weather on deck was magnificent, and the light was so bright.

Poster: I Feel Space

This is a poster I did for a night my friend puts on in Bristol. The image I used is from Ben Pearce's photostream on Flickr, a constant source of joy.

Barcelona: Return to Mercat de la Boqueria

I just had to go back to the Boqueria market on my last day, I loved it there and wanted to take more pictures (and buy more fruit and eat fish). These are the photos I took, this time trying to capture the people that worked in the market a little more closely. My favourite shot is of the woman gutting squid (that looks like what she's doing, I'm not toally sure).

The guy in the last photo was muy angry about something and was shouting and gesticulating at the girl working at the fruit stall, who was mainly ignoring him, as was his wife who just stood there staring blankly at the fruit.

Barcelona: Views from atop the Catedral

After the market on my last day in Barca I paid 2.50 euros to take an elevator to the top of the central cathedral in the Barri Gottic, where you can see some terrific views.

Barcelona: Mercat de Sant Antoni

I visited Mercat de Sant Antoni on the morning of my last day. It was much quieter than Mercat de la Boqueria, far fewer tourists, it was cheaper, and it felt like all local people there who were a little surprised that anyone was taking pictures.

Barcelona: Walking around El Raval

The streets of Raval were warm, noisy and totally overflowing with life. Thats where I was staying in Barcelona and I fell in love with it.
