Walk around Kingham

These are some photos I took walking around Kingham after lunch. Autumn had taken over the quiet landscape, and the trees were malting piles of crunchy dead leaves.

Lunch in Oxfordshire

On Friday we had lunch at the Plough whilst driving through Oxfordshire on route to Cambridge. We all ate pheasant and red cabbage and I had peppermint tea.

Friday breakfast

Jesi made breakfast on Friday morning, but I made the poached eggs (thankyou to Delia Smith).

La Boca logo

This is a logo I designed today for my friends' new website (well, it doesn't exist yet - under construction), which is going to be an events/listings site about whats happening in Barcelona which is where they reside....

I only just knocked this up this afternoon, so it could change, but actually I think its pretty nice how it is. I drew it in pen and then added colours on the computer.

Monday drawing: Miu Miu

miu miu

I feel a bit better today - I haven't had to get totally spaced out on Nurofen Cold & Flu just to get through the day.

I did a drawing of some sweet Miu Miu pumps that I spied whilst flicking through an old copy of Vogue at my studio. I might draw some more shoes tomorrow....

My collaboration with Super 8 magazine is now live.

Sunday drawing

I have a wretched cold. :-(

I think I got it in London, whilst having far too much fun before, during and after the Frieze Art Fair.

However, despite this I did a drawing today. This is what I did, for no particular reason really. I think she looks like she's about to sneeze! I started out with the idea of making another Flowergirl for the series, but then it turned into this instead. I want to do some drawings of shoes, that will be next I think.

Just finished watching the devilishly addictive HBO series True Blood yesterday. I am distraught by the fact that they haven't even finished writing the third season yet. Whats a girl to do?

Lovesick, finished version

Late summer

I took these out of my window right at the end of summer.

Making costumes

A few weeks ago a group of my friends and I went to a wonderful festival called Shambala. It was jolly good fun and I highly recommend it if you ever happen to be in England during the late summer months.
Anyway, these are some pictures of us at my house making our costumes for the 'carnival' day of the festival, which is the Saturday.
We decided to go as a powerful tribe of futuristic rave indians from space. I'm not going to post any pictures of us actually wearing the costumes so you will have to use your imagination....
In other news, I am very excited to announce that my portfolio is now up on the Art Department website. See it here.

Budapest: the Gellert

The Gellert pool and spa was where I spent most of three of the five days I was in Budapest. It doesn't look it from these photos, as they were taken right at the end of the day, but Budapest was scorching hot the whole time we stayed. The only place to be was by the pool.

The Gellert is famous for its thermal baths, where you can bathe in water that has shot up hot and rich straight from the center of the earth. You cannot take photos in the thermal section however, I think because quite a lot of the older, more local ladies like to get in the nude as they bathe.

The ladies in the last picture are carved into the wall at the entrance of the spa...

Budapest: Covered market

Budapest, the end of our journey. Have been here five days and its home tomorrow, home sweet home.

These are pictures from the covered markets in the centre of Budapest. I love to photograph markets. The Covered market reminds me of this market I visited recently.

Achensee: Early morning

I got up early and took photos in the misty morning, as the sleepy clouds drifted down from the mountains toward the lake.

Achensee: Butterfly

This butterly came and landed on my hand when I was out hiking round the lake and just sat there for about ten minutes while I walked.

It was very tricky taking a picture of him/her with just my left hand but somehow I managed it by sort of holding the camera with my neck while I peered through the viewfinder.

Achensee

After driving for what felt like forever, from northern France through Switzerland Germany and Austria, we finally arrived in idyllic Pertisau, a tiny town on the shore of the Achensee, a spectacular mountain lake in Tirol (Austria).

It was so beautiful there, and it looks like how I imagine some parts of New Zealand might look like.
